Columbia Craft holds a lot of memories for Katie and Sam ranging from their first date to weekly hang outs with the music bingo crew. If you like great beer (especially sours), food trucks, and a causal environment we cannot recommend this spot enough.
Pretzels and pizza. What more do we need to say? Located in an old WWII airport hangar, this spot is perfect for those looking to take in a bit of local history, watch some planes take off and land, and enjoy great beer and food.
A little closer to the venue and hotels, Hazelwood provides a chance to explore Lexington and see an easy half way spot between where Katie and Sam lived downtown while in Columbia and where Katie's parent's live on the lake.
Craft and Draft is a great spot to find all varieties of beer, ciders and seltzers. The Irmo location is a large building with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Katie and Sam have been to the downtown location many times and first went to this location with Katie's sister, Mary Elizabeth, and her boyfriend, Cam. We had a great time and highly recommend this place for those who like beer and food.
Usually in the list of options any time Sam or Katie's parents want to go out to eat downtown. The trio and a margarita pitcher are a must especially when out with friends or family. Sam's go-to tacos: Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Pesto Katie's go-to tacos: Fried Chicken, Purivian Shrimp
Located right downtown, the South Carolina State House and grounds provides visitors with a unique experience to take a tour and learn about some of the history of South Carolina as well as see where history is made every day.
Learn all about South Carolina and more through its four floors of permanent and changing exhibits, a digital dome planetarium, 4D interactive theater, and an observatory. Home to many UofSC admissions events, Katie has spent loads of hours in this museum connecting with prospective students who often times reconnected with her once at UofSC.
