Columbia Craft Brewing Company
Columbia Craft holds a lot of memories for Katie and Sam ranging from their first date to weekly hang outs with the music bingo crew. If you like great beer (especially sours), food trucks, and a causal environment we cannot recommend this spot enough.
Hunter-Gatherer Brewery/Taproom
Pretzels and pizza. What more do we need to say? Located in an old WWII airport hangar, this spot is perfect for those looking to take in a bit of local history, watch some planes take off and land, and enjoy great beer and food.
Hazelwood Brewing Company
A little closer to the venue and hotels, Hazelwood provides a chance to explore Lexington and see an easy half way spot between where Katie and Sam lived downtown while in Columbia and where Katie's parent's live on the lake.
Craft and Draft Irmo
Craft and Draft is a great spot to find all varieties of beer, ciders and seltzers. The Irmo location is a large building with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Katie and Sam have been to the downtown location many times and first went to this location with Katie's sister, Mary Elizabeth, and her boyfriend, Cam. We had a great time and highly recommend this place for those who like beer and food.
The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli
Just read the name. But seriously, this is Katie's favorite place for breakfast in Columbia.
Cantina 76
Usually in the list of options any time Sam or Katie's parents want to go out to eat downtown. The trio and a margarita pitcher are a must especially when out with friends or family. Sam's go-to tacos: Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Pesto Katie's go-to tacos: Fried Chicken, Purivian Shrimp
Tonella's Pizza Kitchen
Katie's suggestion any time Katie and Sam go out to Irmo to see Sam's parents. Although Katie can't say she ever hears anyone complaining.
Liberty Tap Room & Grill
Closer to the venue and hotels, "Liberty on the Lake" is sure to provide some amazing views of the marina. Sit inside or depending on the night potentially catch some live music out on the deck.
Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea
Sam's go to coffee spot as it is also in walking distance from Sam's office at the University of South Carolina. Greg likely knows Sam by name and by order; the Dreamy.
Drip Coffee
Katie's go to coffee shop as it is in walking distance from Katie's old office at the University of South Carolina. Although they don't know Katie by name yet, they do know her as the iced honey vanilla latte girl so she'll take it.
Loveland Coffee
Loveland coffee started as a drive-thru only for many years in Irmo and has officially opened an in-store sit down shop and we love it! All their coffees are delicious and the garlic jalapeno biscuit is mouth watering!
Blue Flour Bakery
At Blue Flour you really can't go wrong with any sweet treat choice you make and if you I am sure the bride and groom wouldn't be mad if some treats mysteriously ended up in their hotel room after the wedding.
South Carolina State House
Located right downtown, the South Carolina State House and grounds provides visitors with a unique experience to take a tour and learn about some of the history of South Carolina as well as see where history is made every day.
West Columbia Riverwalk Park and Amphitheater
The Riverwalk is a go spot for Sam and Katie in Columbia. Take some time and enjoy the beauty and nature of the trail along the Congaree River, where Sam and Katie frequently tube.
Riverbanks Zoo & Garden
Great for young kids and adults alike. Beautiful botanical gardens. Sam and Katie's favorite memories here including taking Katie's cousins and using Sam as a human stilt.
State Museum
Learn all about South Carolina and more through its four floors of permanent and changing exhibits, a digital dome planetarium, 4D interactive theater, and an observatory. Home to many UofSC admissions events, Katie has spent loads of hours in this museum connecting with prospective students who often times reconnected with her once at UofSC.
