We went up to Tahoe for our annual trip to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We went snowshoeing up to the top of a mountain and Brad casually set up the tripod to take some photos (he wanted it to be a surprise and I was unsuspecting). We started taking cute photos at the top of this mountain with Tahoe Lake in the background and he told me how much I mean to him. He asked me “how long have we been together now?” Then, he got down on one knee and I burst into tears. I couldn’t believe it was happening. It was an out of body experience and my future flashed before my eyes. He asked me to marry him and I said “YES!”
Miranda: “I was eating lunch with my friend Kristin in the Sierra College cafeteria. Brad walks up to our table and asks if he can join us because he knew Kristin from one of the classes they had together. My draw dropped when I met him and whispered to Kristin, ‘WHO is this guy!? I need to know him!’ He sits down with us and it turns out he brought a STEAK knife for his steak! I offered to hide it in my bag for him so he didn’t get in trouble for bringing a huge knife onto campus.” Brad: “I microwaved my steak and needed a place to eat and saw a clasmate Kristin and walked over to her table. I was secretly avoiding campus police after the Janitor incident (another long story). Miranda was sitting with Kristin and absolutely gorgeous. I was nervous to make eye contact, but I think she liked that. The rest is history.”
Miranda: “My first impression of him was that he was a cute little bad boy (remember, I was only 19). He seemed like he had a lot of life experience and was someone I needed to get to know. I loved his style and vibe. I knew he was going to be a big part of my life. Right after we met, I told my friends that I needed him in my life, this was it.” Brad: “I thought she was the cutest, most innocent girl I’ve ever met. She was extremely confident and I was really after that in a girl. I could also tell she was smart, and that attracted me to her. She was a business major and I could tell she didn’t know where to go. I wanted to help her and be a good influence. Maybe I wanted to mold her into what her potential could be.”
Brad picked me up and we went to Yard House to grab drinks. I was only 19 at the time, but had a fake ID that Shannon gave me for my 18th birthday! Brad was shocked when I told him how old I was - he is 2 years older. We grabbed drinks and appetizers and talked about school, our families, our lives, hopes and dreams. We got to know eachother and noticed how many times we could have crossed paths throughout our lives! We couldn’t stop laughing and it was so easy. We felt like we had known eachother forever.
Miranda: “ I knew he was the one very early on. I can’t remember ONE particular moment because I feel like I’ve always known.”
Brad: “I’ve had multiple moments like this. That’s why it was such an easy decision. One night, you were playing with Kinsley and I saw the mother I wanted for my children.”
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
