From the bride (fact checked by the groom): We met through an app like any other couple. Details are important, so when Nolo saw I was 2,000+ miles away he made a fair observation: “I set a 50 mile radius on this app.” For context, I had just returned from Puerto Rico the week before on what I told myself would be my last trip to the island for a long time. I responded, “Really? Wow. Maybe because I just got back from 🇵🇷 last week”. “That explains it. You come here often?”, Nolo continued to message the girl from Texas. At this point I had been frustrated with the dating scene in DFW. Searching on and off for well over a decade makes you wonder if you just need to change the environment. So I switched my location to the island I was in love with—Puerto Rico. Ocean Park was the first beach I ever visited in Puerto Rico. It was the first place I traveled to after COVID and watching my dad pass away. I remember the water was so warm it felt like an embrace. The people, the sounds, and the mojitos de coco had me enchanted like the island so proudly advertises. Pensé, si mi corazón está encantada con la isla, con su magia, seguramente me podría regalar al hombre de mis sueños. Within hours I matched with a man who looked genuine. Tenía fotos del Yunque con sus amistades, en otra foto, he was walking someone special down the isle—se le notaba que tenía un amor fuerte por su familia. La isla tuvo éxito. Me and Nolo never looked back. We would love to share in this occasion with the people who've rooted for us along the way. Please come and enjoy yourself. The beach brought me and Nolo together, the beach is where we celebrate 🥳
