According to Derrick, we first met at Joe Blacks, everyone meets their forever there, right? Well according to Derrick, that's where we first met. We talked for a short while until I 'supposedly' stepped on his shoes in which made him walk away leaving me standing there. I always knew who Derrick was, I mean who didn't? But I remember actually meeting Derrick at Choice Gym. That sounds much better then 'Joe Blacks.' We had casual talk until 2018 when we finally made something shake! Two years later and we're now planning our wedding!

July 30, 2020, Derrick and I were celebrating our graduation from the University of North Dakota with master's degrees. I was a bit of a crazy person that day as I like to have everything set up and make sure everyone is enjoying there time... the problem was, that Susan, his mom, and her squad, were setting up the tree decorations of where he planned to propose. So Derrick made me call my mom and she asked me to go all the way to her house to stall me but once I got there, she told me she didn't need anymore help! For those that don't know we live in East Grand Forks and they live on the South side of Grand Forks so I was grumpy that I had to drive all that way for nothing, but still excited as all of our favorite people would be in one area. Later The weather was beautiful and the food was delicious. We had a great turnout of family and friends! One of Susan's friends pulled me aside to discuss somethings about her son who is in my class, in which I found out later was untrue. When we came back to our spot by the park, everyone was gone but we could see some people. We walked that way and I soon heard a song of ours, Daniel Caesar "Best Part." Our families were spread apart into two rows in which there was a path for me to walk down. As I walked down, everyone handed me roses and I made my way to my future husband who stood under the tree with decorations, near a blanket. He knelt down, said the sweetest little speech and asked me to be his forever and man oh man, I cannot wait to do exactly that!
