Our Fairytale

Once upon a time, in 2004, a boy & a girl met in Walt Disney World at a water park while on summer vacation. He kept winking & flashing his big grin at her while in line, & when they ended up in line next to each other on another ride, it was not by coincidence. She swooned as he made her laugh, & after spending a day together, they knew the spark between them was something special, but neither of them could understand it at the time. They kept in touch for 2 years, falling for each other, even though they lived 8 states apart, writing love letters, in which he told her that he loved her & would marry her some day. However, reality eventually set in, & they wished each other the best as they parted ways. They sporadically kept in touch, she would text him when she was at Disney, or after hearing one of their songs, "We Belong Together" or "Of All the Gin Joints in All the World" (please be kind, we were just teens in puppy love, mad at the world from keeping us apart), & they would briefly catch up. Sadly, as years passed, the check-ins became less frequent, until they stopped altogether after she tried texting him in 2019, when she was told by the phone number's new owner (who actually is his brother) that the person she was looking for changed his number, & wished her lucked in finding him. Fast forward to July 2021. She was visiting a friend in Atlanta, who was no fun & was sick of her country & annoying Disney music, & she was banned from picking songs. Her friend forced her to shuffle through their Spotify favorites playlist, & as she skipped through almost every song, one song stopped her in her tracks - Of All the Gin Joints in All the World. She then forced her friend to listen to it about 25-50 more times over the weekend, because she couldn't get him out of her head. She messaged him on Facebook, but after 5 days with no response, she sought out another way to contact him, so she eventually found him on Twitter, & slid into him DM's. He responded quickly, & after 3 days of texting, he called her, & after hearing his voice for the first time in 15 years, she was instantly transported to being a lovestruck teenager again. They spent 2.5 hours catching each other up on their lives; the triumphs, struggles, & heartbreaks, & she even told him how she kept his letters from all those years ago, because for some reason, she just couldn't bring herself to throw them out. He asked to call her again the next night, & when they hung up, she knew she was in trouble by the way that her cheeks hurt from smiling so hard, & could remember how she felt about him all those years ago, like it was just last week. He called the next night, & every day after, & they talked for hours. After 2 months, she flew from MI to TX to see if the chemistry they had would carry over in person. From their first kiss at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, life as they both knew it would never be the same, because they didn't want to spend another day apart. One year after that Twitter DM, she packed up her things, he flew to MI, & they headed off on their journey moving her down to TX to start their life together with their brown baby dog, King. He decided to propose on their Christmas trip to MI, & just like their unconventional love story, the proposal is a story itself as well. He ordered the ring, but it got delayed, so he had it re-routed to MI, to hopefully arrive in time for the proposal. HOWEVER, US Customs & FedEx failed to deliver it in time, so he schemed with both his & her mom, & found a sentimental ring of her grandma's to propose with. He asked her to marry him while surrounded by dogs under bistro lights, she said YES! & they celebrated with her family & friends afterwards! Neither of them really believed in fate before, but their love story is proof that what's meant to be will find a way, because on March 8th, 2024, they're getting married... *& They'll Live Happily Ever After*
