For men, this means dark suits (black, navy blue), white shirts, ties or bow ties, and dress shoes. No tux necessary! For women, this may range from a dressier cocktail dress to a floor length gown. We recommend refraining from patterns and florals and keeping it simple with a single color. For some examples, visit this link: https://tinyurl.com/4p455tvv
We recommend bringing cash in US Dollars (not Euros) to Lebanon, and 1) exchanging a small amount, maybe $50, to Lebanese Liras at the nearest OMT office for local spending and 2) paying for bigger expenses in USD. If you decide to pay in USD make sure to ask about what conversion rate they will be using and compare it to the MARKET rate at https://lirarate.org/ - it is normal for vendors to charge a little extra but make sure it is reasonable. International CC/Debit cards may be used at restaurants, bars, supermarkets, gas stations, hotels, however it is possible that some places may not accept it, and transaction fees may apply, so please be prepared with cash.
We have tried our best to quantify how much each of our events will cost on the schedule/rsvp pages. Please take a look! On average $150 a day should be plenty. Make sure to add on any unpaid accommodation and transportation costs.
We do not recommend renting a car in Lebanon as it is rather easy and cost effective to call a taxi company via WhatsApp or use the Allo Taxi app. Uber may be cheaper as well, just make sure you are comfortable with the car and driver you get. You will be able to pay in cash in both cases. For short distance trips such as within Beirut or Batroun/Byblos area, if you decide to hail a taxi (or TukTuk) from the street, make sure you check a comparable price on Uber and agree on the price before you get in the car.
We have really fun events planned out for the week before the wedding (please see the Schedule page for more details). For this reason, we recommend our guests to come in around Friday August 25 - Monday September 4 to make the best of their trip.
We recommend staying in Beirut from August 28 - August 30 and spending the rest of your stay in Batroun. Please note, we have a day trip planned on August 30 for which we would pick you up from Beirut (with your luggage) and drop you in Batroun at the end of the day if you will be joining. For those of you coming for a shorter amount of time and are thinking of staying in only one area, we definitely recommend choosing to stay in Batroun for this trip!
