While we can't agree on the day, we met in college somewhere between a pool party and a 21st birthday party, spending much of the fall semester galavanting around State College. That same semester, we shared our first kiss in the most romantic of settings, a fraternity kitchen during late night eats after a Halloween party. Though we drifted apart for the next few years, we rekindled again in 2017 at a friend's wig themed birthday, not being ones to shy away from a costume. After this, we talked frequently and made it a point to see each other when Kari moved to Philly for nursing school in 2019. It didn't take long to realize this is what we both truly wanted. In a serendipitous, full circle moment, 5 years following that fraternity house romance, we officially started dating on Halloween night of 2020. Brandon managed to convince Kari that New York is a one of a kind place so she, albeit hesitantly, packed up her bags and Zeppelin's bones and they moved up to Brooklyn in 2021. Oy vey! The rest is our ongoing history.
On a seemingly mundane Friday night, Brandon fabricated that their poor dog had not gone to the bathroom all day. To let Zeppelin relieve himself, the three of them went on their typical walk through McCarren Park and half way through, Brandon popped the question. After saying yes, coupled with some spastic jumps, Kari started to dart home to see the ring she designed a year prior in the appropriate light! However, the first of several surprises for the evening rushed up behind us, Sheila, Kari's mom and Adrian, Brandon's brother, had been staked out in the park bushes to get a glimpse of the proposal. Brandon arranged for many of our closest friends to be with us and to surprise Kari as we celebrated together. That weekend was a glimpse into how meaningful it will be to have you all in one place on our wedding weekend. To our friends who have been there from the start, the ones we picked up along the way, and to our ever present family, thank you for being such an integral part of our lives! We can't wait to celebrate with you. See you in The Land!
