We met at a party I hadn't noticed Brian the whole night. At the end of the night I walked out to my car passing Brian on the way he asked me, "Are you okay to drive?" I told him "Yeah I'm fine" He replied "alright drive safe see you later." I stopped and thought "wow that was nice I'm a stranger, I've never even met him before." Come to find out later, this caring behavior is wholly characteristic of him. He's a wonderful man and one of the best parts of Brian is his heart. The next time we met coincidentally at a party the next month. We spent the whole night getting to know each other at the end I told him "this was fun we should talk more if you're interested you can get my number from Jessica." the hostess of said party and left. He texted me the next day. We both knew this was something worth looking into.
Our family took a vacation May 2017 to Ormond beach. The second to last day we woke up early to watch the sunrise and collect shells. We walked out to the beach just as the sun bubbled up over the horizon, it was beautiful. Brian and I started down the beach in search for shells. We walked for what seemed like forever. Brian was looking at his phone nearly the whole time, little did I know it was for the set up lol. We headed back to the hotel combing the beach for shells slowing once we got close. Just before we got back Brian pointed me in the opposite direction we came to a large beautiful shell. Inside of it contained a letter letting me know the how much Brian cares for me. I turned around to him on a knee holding the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. This man who's got a beautiful heart, is kind and generous brave and selfless to him only one answer fit. Yes!
Even though I tried to seem calm and connected, I was frantically scanning the beach for a comically large conch shell. After about 20 minutes of walking aimlessly around with no luck, I decided to head back with Ashley to try and plan this for another time. However, as we walked back to the hotel, another couple was trying to catch my attention. They motioned over towards an unremarkable area of the beach, where the big shell laid in the sand between patches of weeds. "Hold on, this area looks interesting!" I said as I pulled her off to the side. From there I tried my best in acting like I had discovered it with her. It was after reading the note inside that she said yes, and on that morning I was engaged to the most beautiful and caring person I know.
