We're so excited to celebrate with you!

Cody and Emily knew a little bit about each other and had been in the same friend circle, but they didn't officially meet until January 3, 2017 when Cody starting working at Preparis. Emily was also working there and it happened to be her birthday. A group of people were planning on going to lunch and invited Cody along. He ended up going bowling with Emily and her friends that night to continue the birthday celebration. After that, Cody and Emily became friends. A strong friendship grew between them and Cody started hanging around the apartment complex where Emily and a few other friends were currently living and they spent their weekends hanging by the pool and going to friend's houses. The friendship slowly turned to more as they spent more and more time together and finally, one weekend while visiting Katie and Brandon in Birmingham, Emily looked at Cody and asked, "So am I your girlfriend or what?". They moved in together in October of 2017 and adopted Ghost shortly after. The rest is history.

Emily's oldest niece, Aria, was turning 5 and a Hamilton themed birthday party was planned for September. Family was flying in from New York and Emily and Cody made the drive from Atlanta to Daphne to celebrate. The family "decided" to go to Orange Beach for dinner once the party was over. We packed the family into multiple cars and made the trip to the beach. Emily drove with Erin and the girls and they were stopped for speeding on the way. Once we all made it to the restaurant, Cody was waiting with a drink for Emily and asked if she wanted to go walk down to the beach for a moment. Emily kicked off her shoes and they made their way to a private area of the beach. Once alone, Emily was trying to point out all of the places she and her friends used to hang out during high school, not knowing that Cody wasn't listening to a word she said. Cody told Emily some beautiful things and then dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry him! She cried, said yes, and they took some pictures with the secret photographer who was hiding in the background. The family was waiting with champagne, the entire restaurant was cheering for them and congratulating them, and they spent the night surrounded by family celebrating.
