La Plata County Airport

The airport is 15 miles (20 minutes) from Durango. Airlines serving Durango, Co: United Airlines and American Airlines. Connecting flights from Dallas/Fort Worth, Phoenix, and Denver.

Driving to Durango

If you do plan on driving and making this a vacation, we usually stop in Childress, Texas for the first night. There is a nice Hampton Inn with a Walmart right next door. Also, with one of the best Mexican restaurants I have had. The Plaza Mexican Restaurant and Bar, great fajitas and nachos. Side Note: When driving through Albuquerque to Durango, do not stop in Cuba, NM. The gas stations are not the best.

Flight

Albuquerque International Sunport

Albuquerque, NM is a 3 1/2hour drive to Durango. However, ABQ serves more airlines: United Airlines, Delta, United Airlines, Southwest, Frontier, and Allegiant. Car rentals at airport The drive is very pretty, you will be able to see different terrains throughout! (You might feel like you are in Breaking Bad series in some areas). Side Note: When driving to Durango, do not stop in Cuba, NM.
