Her Perspective: We met our junior year of high school in English class. He sat one row over and two seats behind me. I thought he was super cute, especially with his accent, having just moved from Tennessee. We didn't talk much throughout the class, besides him asking if I knew how to do a few assignments (basically just wanting me to give him the answers). I didn't see him again until I was at a concert for a Christian band with one of my friends. This was also the church that Cameron attended. Luckily, my friend was friends with him, so when she went over to say hi, I of course had to come along! We talked a little and eventually parted ways. A couple days later was my birthday and guess who messaged me on twitter?! From then on we spoke everyday! Fun Fact: the first week we started dating Cameron was driving us to a football game, crashed us into a tree, and totaled his car. We were both fine, but I have refused to let him live it down ever since (: His Perspective: It all started junior year of high school in English Class. I sat next to this super cute blonde that I figured would never look my way. So I thought nothing of it and went on being my hilarious and cute southern boy self! ;) I was later told by one of that blonde’s best friends that I should ask the super cute blonde out on a date... Terrified, I declined thinking I’d never have a chance with someone that beautiful! Fast forward to about a year later, I saw that super cute blonde at a concert at my church and talked to her friends and her afterwards. I then decided to tell her happy birthday a few days later when I saw that it was her birthday on Twitter. I was feeling bold! I prolonged the conversation as long as I could until I got her number. Thankfully, she gave it to me and I decided to thank her by driving us into a tree on one of our first dates!! But, obviously it all worked out. She just loves to tell me to watch out for trees when we are in the car together sometimes.
When Kenzie moved back to Ohio, it was go time. We spent the whole summer together making up for any time we lost while she was away. Knowing we wanted to get married in the coming years, we began talking about when that may happen. Cameron started trying to throw her off, giving various reasons as to why it would be years from then. Little did she know, he had already started looking at rings. By the time fall rolled around, Kenzie had to head back to NJ for one last semester for her undergrad. Cameron took this opportunity to head to the jeweler. He bought a ring, asked her parents permission, and began thinking up ideas on how to pop the question. Knowing she would be back nearly every weekend for PT interviews, he would have plenty of opportunities to ask. Not being very good at keeping secrets, he knew it would have to be soon though, like, VERY soon. He decided he would propose in a spot that was special to us both, Sycamore Creek Park. This was a spot where we would hammock all the time in high school, where we said I love you the first time, and where he asked her to prom. Posing it as a spontaneous date, Cameron told Kenzie he would pick her and her puppy Asti up after her interview and go on a little adventure. We pulled into the park and started walking along the path, when Cameron starting drifting off the path towards the trees we used to hammock at. Kenzie hesitantly followed along, wondering why they weren't just walking on the path instead of through the grass. Cameron made it to the tree and said "what's this?", and bent over and picked something up. Kenzie walked over and saw that he was holding a ring! After a series of "CAMERON?!!?'" and "ARE YOU SERIOUS??!!" Cameron got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Kenzie was so surprised, and it couldn't have gone smoother. We are so excited to be starting this next chapter in our lives, and can't wait to tie the knot!
