FAQs

Important FAQs and Information
Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 4:30pm. Please arrive around 4pm to park and find the ceremony area.

Question

There are two driveways. Which should I use?

Answer

The owner's house and private driveway are the first you will encounter. The main entrance is by the Rosewood Farm sign. If you pull up and see the barn, you are in the right area.

Question

Where do I park at the venue?

Answer

Rosewood Farms has four handicap parking spaces Most of the parking lot is located on our reinforced grassy lot. Please plan shoes accordingly. The grass lot is very close to the entrance of the barn and ceremony area so there will not be any long walks involved. We have a total of 32 parking spaces. So carpooling is encouraged. Street parking is not allowed and vehicles will be towed at the owners expense.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We want to celebrate with you and are providing an open bar. While you will not have to pay for drinks, please bring cash to tip the bartending service we hired.

Question

What is the smoking policy?

Answer

This is a working hobby farm and we want to protect the beauty of the natural setting. Smoking is allowed in the designated area only. While marijuana is legal for medical and recreational purposes in Illinois, smoking marijuana on the grounds is strictly prohibited. Any guests found in violation by the venue's team will be promptly asked to leave.

Question

There are train tracks and animals on the property. Are there any related rules or issues to be aware of?

Answer

Rosewood Farms is located next to freight train single track. Unfortunately, these trains do not run on a schedule. We do find once the engine passes, most of the noise is minimal. Guests are not allowed to go near the tracks. There are goats, alpacas, geese, ducks, chickens, and a few other animals on site. They love being a part of the day but guests are not allowed to touch or feed the animals. Feel free to take photos with them but don't bother them. Guests will have viewing access to the working gardens, wildflower prairie, orchards, farm animals, and pond until sunset. For guest safety we will restrict access to the animals and gardens once it is dark out.

Question

What is the plan for bad weather?

Answer

While we truly want the ceremony to be in the gardens, in case of poor weather, we will be will move the ceremony to the barn where the reception will be. There will be umbrellas available for use to walk to and from the bathrooms and mobile bar if needed.

Question

Any special extras we should be aware of?

Answer

Weather permitting, there are several amenities for your use. There is a small climbing/play area for children by the firepit. We will have the firepit active from 7:30p-9:30p with s'mores available (weather permitting). Additionally, there will be yard games available right outside the barn.
