15 year-old Alexa had a long, difficult day at school. She was feeling lonely and so decided to go to Timmys hoping to find friends who could cheer her up. Alexa told herself that if nobody showed up by the first bus home, she would leave. By this time, she had everything packed and was seconds from standing to leave when Rens De Vries, an acquaintance from school rushed through the door followed by a green-eyed ginger who Alexa was surprised she had never seen before - this is when we locked eyes for the first time. Rens was frantically looking for his backpack so Alexa joined the search. Andreas Haglund, another friend from school, was next to walk through the door and confessed that he hid the backpack in the truck of Norbi's car to waste time because the boys were going to drop him off on a blind date. Norbi bet Andres on a chess game where if Andreas lost, he would have to at least stop in. Norbi won the game. Needless to say, Alexa never took that bus.
Due to the age gap between Alexa and Norbi, once all our mutual friends went oversees, we stopped seeing each other, only once in a blue moon. In September 2017, after Alexa's graduation, she left for a 7-month trip around the world by which time, her and Norbi had for a long time by now completely stopped talking. In April 2018 she returned and on the 21st of the month, when mom and dad took her out to their favorite breakfast spot, we saw each other for the first time - again. Norbi was the server and they were both head over heels. We started texting again automatically, as if no time had passed and planned to hang out less than a week later. We met at that same Tim Hortons as we first met where Norbi was waiting for her bus. Instead, Alexa showed up driving her black baby Mitzu, a manual making Norbi heart-eyed for the rest of the time. We hung out together and talked all summer and on September 14th, 2018, 3.5 years after meeting, Norbi asked Alexa on a date.
