Newburyport
Newburyport is a charming coastal town with scenic waterfront views, unique shops, fresh seafood, and historic sites. Only a 12 minute drive from the hotel! Enjoy a stroll downtown, relax on Plum Island’s beaches, or explore the Parker River Wildlife Refuge. We love Newburyport and everything it has to offer!
Crane Beach
We love Crane Beach and have been going here for many summers together. Only a 17 minute drive from the hotel! It's been voted one of the best beaches in New England. There are no rocks and only gorgeous fine sand on the whole beach! There is plenty of parking, bathrooms, and a snack shack. MUST BUY PARKING PASS IN ADVANCE!
Plum Island Beach
Another beautiful, sandy beach in the area. The beach stretches on for miles.
J.T. Farnham's
Casual joint for a truly authentic north shore fried clam experience abutting the Essex river (where we bought our boat!).
Woodman's of Essex
The rival of Farnham's. Woodman's has great fried clams, lobster rolls, ice cream and more!
Famous Essex Antique Trail
Nearby the hotel is the famous Essex Antique Trail! This area is known for its antique shops and rare finds. Our favorite is Howard's Flying Dragon (across the street from Woodman's if you are in the mood for for fried clams, lobster rolls, or ice cream)
Todd Farm Flea Market
This is a very popular flea market that happens every Sunday in the summer from 6 am-1pm. They also have a store in the barn that has some great finds!
Russell Orchards
Beautiful farm and winery. You can pick your own fruit, attend a wine tasting, or browse their farm store in the barn. We love Russell Orchards!
Foote Brothers Canoe / Kayak Rentals
If you are feeling adventurous, you can rent a canoe or kayak and paddle down the Ipswich river!
