Things To Do

If you are planning on staying for a few days, there are so many wonderful things to see and do in Rhode Island. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Cliff Walk

Cliff Walk

Cliff Walk, Newport, RI 02840

Don't miss the Cliff Walk if you’re in Newport! It’s spectacularly pretty, with great views of the mansions and the sea.

Fort Adams State Park

Fort Adams State Park

Fort Adams State Park, Newport, RI 02840

Drive to Fort Adams and walk along the waterfront. If the Del’s Lemonade truck is there, get a frozen lemonade; it's a Rhode Island tradition. When you leave, take a right out of the park exit and stay right to follow the coast road/Ocean Road back to downtown Newport. It’s beautiful….

Newport Beaches

Newport Beaches

First Beach (aka Easton’s Beach) is within walking distance to downtown Newport. It has a great snack bar with wonderful twin lobster rolls. Flo’s Clamshack is also a fun place to grab lunch across from First Beach. Second Beach is less busy, larger, and much quieter than First Beach. Third Beach is very protected and calm, and has a nice quiet vibe to it. Gooseberry Beach is a pretty public beach, out on Ocean Drive.

Beavertail State Park

Beavertail State Park

Beavertail Road, Jamestown, RI 02835
, (401) 884-2010

Beavertail Lighthouse lies on the southernmost point of Jamestown, Rhode Island in Beavertail State Park, on a site where beacons have stood since the early 18th century. There is a small museum there, as well as a small aquarium with fish native to the Narraganset bay. Beavertail's rocky cliffs can lead you down to small coves where you can take a dip in the bay.

Narragansett Town Beach
