Hannah and Nora were forced together via alphabetically-ordered last names in the 9th grade and quickly became inseparable. Through the years, they've shared many things: inappropriate laughter during religious services, cosmic brownies from the school cafeteria, trips to New York and St. Louis during the college years, birthday parties (they were born only 3 hours apart), appletinis and Heart and Soy dinners, an apartment and a house, and an excessive number of inside jokes.

Joe and Pierce met when Pierce asked Joe to play Legos together in preschool. Although Joe lives on the other side of the country, they have remained best friends through the years. Pierce is a proud honorary Uncle to Joe and his wife Natasha's four children.

Nora and Lena met during their sophomore year at Barnard College, when Lena offered Nora a chocolate covered espresso bean. As two southern girls in NYC, they lamented a lack of good sweet tea up north and were soon attached at the hip. As roommates, they explored the city together, spent countless hours watching Doctor Who and Arrested Development, traveled together to Boston, Louisville, and Dallas, and even shared a dog-walking gig for one of the most eccentric women on the Upper West Side.

Pierce met Elijah and his now-wife, Henna, in law school and they now practice together at the same firm. When they're not lawyer-ing, they like to golf, hike, and play tabletop board games together.

Henna was one of the first of Pierce's friends that Nora met, and she immediately knew they would get along. Not only was Henna one of the few law friends to talk about things other than law school, but they also shared a love of animals, Sierra Ferrell, and Grady Hendrix novels. Pierce and Nora are honored to have both Henna and her husband Elijah in their bridal party.

While Sam has known Nora since her birth, he and Pierce met on a family trip to Michigan, where they became marooned together on a rowboat in Ruth Lake. That kind of survival situation makes for quick bonding with your future brother-in-law.

Jocellyn ("Joss") was born when Nora was a senior in high school, elevating her title to Aunt Nora. Nora's younger nieces, Kennedy and Addison, are serving as flower girls. Nora is incredibly proud to have her three nieces support her in her marriage to "Uncle Pierce." She knew it was a good sign when, after meeting Pierce for the first time, they declared, "Oh yeah. We like him."

Addison is Nora's youngest niece. She shares an obsession with Nelson and is surprisingly good at killing monsters in Zelda.

While Nelson cannot join us for the wedding, we would be remiss to leave him out of the wedding party. We adopted Nelson when we had been dating for three months - it was the pandemic, we were all making wild decisions. In the four years since, he has been a constant loving - and loud - companion. Simultaneously the oldest man and the littlest baby, Nelson will always be our first child.
