Matron of Honor
Teyah and Nora met in high school with a mutual friend. Once that friend moved, Nora was worried her and Teyah weren’t going to be as close. Boy was she wrong! Teyah is the ultimate bestie. They’ve legitimately traveled the world together, from Teyah driving Nora to college in SoCal, to exploring Copenhagen, Amsterdam, & Germany. Teyah and Nora have shared countless adventures together. She is an incredible friend, support, and human and Nora doesn’t know what she’d do without her!
Best Man
Nate and Dan met at Max’s house playing board games. During the games, the topic of biking came up, and the two decided they should pedal up to 4-corners the next week. Nate showed up to bike very unprepared, so Dan carried all of Nate’s gear (beer) up for him. Cribbage has been a constant activity for the two.
Bridesmaid
Although for years Emma and Nora thought they met on the wee early days of Facebook in 8th grade, their first encounter was at the age of 3 at the YMCA when Nora said “hi!” Emma proceeded to punch her in the stomach and then follow up with a hug. (Sorry Emma, I had to share). Later, they became close friends in high school and shared a bond that’s never been broken! Emma is a source of laughter, grounding inspiration, and the kind of sisterly friendship everyone hopes for. She is kind, smart, and the life of the party.
Groomsman
Nate and Will met playing soccer at Southern Oregon University. After the first practice together, Nate asked Will to hang out. The following week, Will did not show up for the game. Will and Nate have lived in Ashland, Bend and Denver together. Still doing life as great friends wherever they are.
Bridesmaid
Tori is Nora’s longest friend and day one homie! Starting in kindergarten, they grew up side by side through the days of make believe in their neighborhoods, the awkwardness of middle school, the many evenings of spending hours on YouTube, to visiting each other at their colleges. Tori’s always been a constant in Nora’s life, filling her with many laughs and the most fun memories!
Groomsman
Peter, ew, I mean Pistol, has always been known to Nate as Pistol. Nate transferred to Humboldt State University to play soccer, where he met Pistol. The two of them played soccer together for three years as center backs. Pistol taught Nate how to play the position, whether or not Nate listened. They moved to Bend together, and their friendship stayed strong even through all of Nate’s moving to Seattle, Ashland, and now Denver. Nate and Pistol have started doing a yearly golf trip as a boys' getaway.
Bridesmaid
Nora and Julia met through Teyah the summer after they all graduated from college. The three of them moved into “The Birch House” where the dearest of best friendships blossomed. Many days spent on the couch watching TV, crying from laughter in our rooms, and going on drives through the hills. Julia is the kind of friend you know you’ll always have a good time with! She brings such love and joy to Nora’s life.
Groomsman
Kai Kai Kai, what is there to say. Kiki, as Nate would call him. Nate’s all-time constant. Like a few others here, Nate and Kai met playing soccer, but this was in middle school. Nate and Kai grew up through the years together and have never lost a beat. Days, weeks, months, go by without them speaking, and when one of them needs anything, a quick phone call is all it takes to catch up on anything in life. Kai has started his own landscape business (Cadarette landscaping is the name if anyone is in need of some work ;p), Nate and Kai will call each other whenever the other needs any work advice or any type of help.
Bridesmaid
Thanks to Nora’s high school Dean of students, Glenna, (who later was Nora’s coworker), Nora and Audrey met at Max’s Halloween party dressed as a scarecrow & Kristen Wiig. They became close friends in Ashland with Nate, Max, & Dan, spending lots of nights playing games or swimming in Glenna’s pool. Nora and Audrey now get to continue on many fun adventures while they both live in Denver, making fun weekend trips to the mountains or going on hikes.
Groomsman
Mike showed up to Southern Oregon University soccer practice the following semester after Nate transferred to SOU. Will and Nate had already become so close, but decided they needed to befriend the guy that never stopped running up the left side of the field. They became the three amigos that couldn’t be separated. From helping Nate through biology to teaching Nate to snowboard, Mike has been one of Nate’s closest friends.
Bridesmaid
Nora met Mikaela through Julia when she came back to Ashland for grad school. The phrase “and they were roommates” applies here. But what started as roommates grew into one of the closest friendships. Nora appreciated Mikaela’s creativity, zest for loving connections, and silliness. While they’ve lived apart and have made “meet-in-the-middle” trips to Kansas, they’ve always made effort to keep the long distance friendship as short distance as possible.
Officiant
Oh Max. The reason we are here today! Max and Nate were teammates in soccer at SOU, and later, Max and Nora were coworkers turned besties at AHS. In 2019, Max and Nate were grabbing a beer at Growler Guys, and Max invited Nora and Teyah to meet them. And that’s where Nate and Nora’s story begins. Max is the ultimate friend connector. He has a talent for bringing people together and creating the most memorable nights of tomfoolery. Max, Nate, Nora, and their friends have spent many nights playing games, talking about life for hours, camping, playing music, laughing, and building such a cherished friendship. Thank you, Max. For everything.
