Nora & Mitch

About Us & FAQs

Question

What's your story?

Answer

We met on a dating app called Bumble in September 2022. Fun fact, we had to reschedule our first date because Nora had to attend Back To School Night! Our first date was in Capitol Hill at a wine bar called The Eastern. The conversation flowed effortlessly; we yapped all night and haven't stopped since! We moved in together in Capitol Hill in October 2023, and got engaged in February 2024. Mitch had one cat when we met (Henry), and we adopted Simon together in May 2024.

Question

Why did your wedding plans change?

Answer

We decided to move up our actual wedding date and have a small, private ceremony due to several factors (D.C.'s current reality and logistical reasons). However, we still want to celebrate our marriage with all our friends and loved ones! We hope that this celebration will be an opportunity for us to see friends and family from all over the country in our new lives as a married couple.

Question

When did you get married?

Answer

We got married at the Moultrie Courthouse in D.C. on April 17th, 2025. The ceremony was intimate, lovely, and included our immediate family members. Lawrence, our officiant, made the day an authentic and meaningful experience.

Question

Will there be a wedding ceremony on October 25th?

Answer

No, however, we plan to have toasts and tributes from our friends and family during cocktail hour, as well as a few other sentimental touches throughout the night. If you have a story you'd like to share about us, don't be shy to speak up (even if its a mild roast - we can take it)!

Question

I'm from out of town - where should I stay?

Answer

The Welcome Party, The Big Party, and The After Party will all be in Arlington. However, we live in D.C., and can always recommend fun things to do downtown. If your priority is to be close to the weekend events, we recommend that you stay in Arlington (see the "Travel" section for hotel recommendations). However, if your priority is to explore D.C. and sight see, we recommend staying in Capitol Hill (our neighborhood), Logan Circle, or Foggy Bottom, which are all neighborhoods on the metro line that will take you to Arlington easily. Please let us know if you have more specific questions, or need recommendations!
