FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

By August 6th, please!

Question

Where do I park and get on the boat?

Answer

Fort Adams State Park! We are still finalizing which dock at Fort Adams will be used for pickups and drop-offs. Please check this website again as we draw nearer to the wedding for updated information on dock location and free parking! Fort Adams State Park 80 Fort Adams Drive Newport, RI 02840

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Think summer picnic! Light fabrics and summer dresses. Stay comfortable! Keep in mind you will be taking a quick boat ride, getting off on a dock, briefly walking through sand, and spending most of the wedding day dancing on the grass. Leave the stilettos at home and embrace sandals or flip flops. And feel free to bring a towel & bathing suit if you feel like taking a swim with us!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to the limited seating available aboard the boat shuttles, plus ones are by invitation only.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

No. Aside from the select kiddos who are part of our wedding, this is a party for the adults!

Question

Is it an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We will be providing plenty of beverages both alcoholic & non-alcoholic. Feel free to bring cash to tip your bartenders as well as your captain & crew! (Venmo QR codes will also be available to tip digitally)

Question

Tell me more about Rose Island!

Answer

Rose Island is about 18 acres in size and situated in the Narragansett Bay just south of the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge. It consists of a historic lighthouse, the Fort Hamilton Barracks, and a wildlife refuge. It is managed by the Rose Island Lighthouse & Fort Hamilton Trust, a 501c3 non-profit in Newport, Rhode Island since 1984. Their mission is to preserve the historic and environmental integrity of Rose Island and maintain its historic properties as open for public access and education. www.RoseIsland.org

Question

Tell me more about Rum Runner II!

Answer

Yacht RUM RUNNER II was built during the height of Prohibition for use in the rumrunner trade. Today she now offers the luxury of a classic motor yacht and the intrigue you would imagine of a high-speed bandit with a history all her own. The vessel is 58 feet and can take up to 49 passengers. (Fun fact: Nora is the yacht's first female captain!) www.sail-newport.com/our-boats/yacht-rum-runner-ii/

Question

What if there are high winds or harsh weather?

Answer

In the event of high winds or a storm that renders the boats unable to operate, we have a back up location! Location details will be released 24 hours before the wedding so plans can be adjusted accordingly. (So check back in on this website!) If slight rain is forecasted for the day, please consider bringing an umbrella, rain boots, and a light jacket. There will be numerous tents around the island to keep us all dry!

Question

What if all this wedding talk has got me wanting to see some Shakespeare in the Park?

Answer

Wow- fancy you should ask! Nora is currently playing Shakespeare's largest female role, Rosalind, in Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's production of AS YOU LIKE IT on the Boston Common! The show runs from now until August 10th. Tickets are FREE as part of a Boston summer tradition! www.commshakes.org/production/asyoulikeit25/
