The beginning was very ordinary: It was at a graduation party of our mutual friend. I saw this beautiful girl and I wanted to talk to her. She told me about her recent internship at a well-known investment bank, and I thought: She is not only beautiful but also smart; let's keep talking. She also laughed at my jokes, and I started realizing we may like each other. We ended up talking all afternoon and all evening, and I still remember the joy of our first encounter. The next morning, we ended up on the same train from the graduation place back to New York City, chatted some more, and had lunch together. By the end of our first 24 hours together, I was so charmed by her personality that I actually forgot how beautiful she was. And that is when I knew I met someone extraordinary. I left home for summer determined to see this girl again. It took a few months for us to reconnect over the phone. She called my dorm room one evening, we chatted for maybe an hour, and after we finished, I went to my friend's room and told him: "I am going to marry this girl." And that is what I did. I realized she is the companion for life: smart, kind, confident, fun, charming, smiling, beautiful, classy... Nora. Jaro and I said our first "I Do" two years after our initial meeting. In a very small gathering (just the two of us) we exchanged our vows in a civil ceremony. I was conscious of my decision to be married then. Jaro was very attentive, caring, smart and had dreams to create a life we would both enjoy. 10 years have passed and here we are again. It has been a time packed with joys and challenges. With a lot of faith and guidance, I am once again eager to renew our vows and the journey ahead. We are marking this milestone by celebrating our traditional Congolese wedding. You see, Jaro never paid any damages for the theft he committed 10 years ago - He snuck through a window, stole my heart and took me away from my parents. We are looking forward to this celebration with you!
