Maid of Honor
I met Erin when we were in kindergarten. We went through my awkward middle school phase together, so she's seen me at my worse, and now hopefully at my best. No one has more material for a toast than Erin.
Best Man
Andrew and I met in 2014 when we worked for a baseball team in the booming metropolis of Martinsville, Virginia. For a time during that summer we were roommates in a literal Comfort Inn hotel room where survived on daily continental breakfasts, leftover hotdogs from the concession stand at the ballpark and chicken that I cooked in a toaster oven. Our shared love of Seinfeld, baseball, hockey and bits have kept our friendship strong over the years and I am sure will also fuel his speech at the reception.
Bridesmaid
I met Meaghan on my first day at my new job. She is the most energetic, organized and caring person I know, and is fully entrusted with using her detail-oriented brain to help with wedding tasks.
Groomsman
Kevin and I grew up on the same street and have been extremely close friends since we were four and five years old. We were lucky enough to grow up in a neighborhood where there were always around 10 boys within two years of each other; boys who loved to play touch football, street hockey, backyard baseball and driveway basketball games whenever possible. Our friendship has survived more than 25 years, countless agonizingly close N64 battles and bets on the golf course.
Bridesmaid
Before grad school started, Alaina and I decided to live together in State College, meaning we spent every day and every minute together for two years, and I'm so thankful for that! Alaina is so sweet, calm and level headed, all things I could use more of in my life, and that I value her endlessly for.
Groomsman
Dale and I met when we each had the misfortune of renting a room in an absolute dump of a house in Roanoke, Virginia between 2016 and 2017. We moved in less than a month apart, when I was in my first season as the Voice of the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, and Dale was positioned in Salem, Virginia as part of a training program for GE. Despite an incompetent landlord, a chunk of the ceiling of my bedroom falling down, his room being so small that he couldn't fully open the door without it hitting into his bed and some extremely bizarre additional roommates in the house, we bonded over a shared love of the TV shows Archer and Community and have remained close ever since.
Bridesmaid
Erika begrudgingly made her way from Pitt to Penn State for grad school, and decided to live with me and Alaina for it. Luckily she did, because we became a perfect trio. Erika is a ball of sunshine, understands all of my annoyances (and shares most of them), and is always down for an adventure.
Groomsman
Ben and I grew up across the street from one another and have been close friends since we were four years old. We went to school together from kindergarten through high school and he, like Kevin, was a part of constant outdoor neighborhood sports competition. Another friendship that has survived 25 years despite me moving all over the country and him moving across the world for our respective careers.
Bridesmaid
I met Lily when we were coworkers both losing our minds at our first jobs. She perfectly matches my mood in all situations, and is a perfect friend to laugh with, vent to, or sit in silence with while we recover from a long day at work. She is flying in from Germany to be with us at our wedding!
Groomsman
Sandy and I met in kindergarten and he was a part of the same crew of boys who grew up together, developing healthy-ish competitive habits through countless touch football, street hockey, driveway basketball, and backyard baseball matches. He has been a lifelong friend and one of the few people I know who also prefers listening to sports talk radio in lieu of music in the car.
Bridesmaid
I met Sam during my second year working at St Coletta. In between running co-treatment groups, programming AAC devices, and happy hours, we became friends!
Best Dog
Taco is our four-year-old majestic goober of a dog. Despite being a rescue from a shelter in Roanoke, he is somehow a purebred, 100% American Foxhound. We had high hopes that he could be a ring bearer, best man, maid of honor, officiant, or just a polite guest but unfortunately, he will be unable to attend due to an inability to sit still or follow any command while in a large crowd.
