Our Story

Cree says this is my story, I say it's the truth - Janesha

Cree & Janesha both attended the same college, Temple University-- and while they had many mutual friends they never seemed to cross paths. They both knew of each other but with their age gap never actually knew each other. Fast forward to Janesha living in Boston and Cree residing in Philly, through a close friend on both sides they were soon to unite. Their close friend, Ed got the word out to Cree that Janesha had mentioned an interest. Cree was over the moon, never imagining that Janesha even knew he existed. But, he knew he had to seize the moment. One day, on twitter, yes the canal of true Black love, Janesha tweeted something that Cree couldn't resist. From there, their friendship bloomed like flowers. They carried on a long distance relationship, visiting each other every two weeks and fitting in calls and texts whenever they could. Slowly but surely, learning that they never wanted to let the other one go. Dun. Dun. Dunnnnnn. COVID-19 appeared on the scene and their life changed forever, for the better. Cree was visiting Janesha when the quarantine was enforced and told her it just didn't make sense for her to not come home. Little did she know, she would never return to the overpriced land that was Boston. During quarantine, their friendship and love was even more solidified through TikToks, bad reality tv shows, deep conversations, too many drinks, and valuable quality time. On August 30th, Cree planned a photoshoot for their "anniversary." He got down on one knee and asked Janesha if she was ready for him to lead for the rest of their lives and would she be his wife. She never knew a love so sweet, gentle, annoying, patient, protecting, and amazing all in one. And he knew he would never find another like her. So to love, to friendship, and forever. They will celebrate their union with their friends and family.

Cree's Story

So, this is the truth of how my wife and I fell in love.

The year was 2014 (or 2015. Who can really remember). I noticed a young woman walking down the street with her friend. As me and my friends approached to grab their attention, this Amazon of a woman gave such a cold and mean reaction that I just walked home. She doesn’t remember this at all, but from that day, I kept my eye on her. I watched as she grew into a college socialite over the years. She was slowly growing into a popular blogger and speaker. She impressed me every time I came across her social media because, for someone of her age, she was ahead of her time. The woman had a Ted Talk before 23! She was inspiring and admirable. (also, she was FINE! Like fine fine. But that’s beside the point) Eventually, a friend of mine mentioned that she referred to me as her “future husband.” Little did I know, she had her eye on me as well. See, the difference is, I was impressed by her brains and ambition while she was blown away by my good looks. She thought a brotha was the most gorgeous thing she has ever seen (and can you blame her?!) So once I engaged in conversation and we began chatting daily, for months, I knew she was a true friend of mine. We spoke about deep topics and joked about the dumbest things. Once we began dating, I already knew she would be the one to be with me forever. Honestly, she probably thought I was crazy because of how dedicated I was to prove I would be her husband, but my hard work paid off because look at her now! She’s completely smitten with your boy! Can't get enough of me! And to think, 6 years ago, I was getting the cold shoulder. That just goes to show you that what is meant to be is meant to be.
