FAQs

Please feel free to reach out directly to Carly (carly.lassa@gmail.com) if you have any other questions!
Question

What are some things I should know before visiting Ireland?

Answer

- Look right first, not left, when crossing the street! - Ireland uses Type G electrical plugs (so you know to get the right converter!) - Tipping is not necessary at restaurants & pubs in Ireland - Weather can be unpredictable! Bring layers and a rain jacket! - Ireland uses military time. Make sure you are booking the correct times for tours / transportation

Question

What is the currency in Ireland?

Answer

The euro is used in the Republic of Ireland.

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We can't wait to see our loved ones all dressed up for our big day! Please join us in your best formal attire. Ladies, we kindly ask that you wear midi to full-length dresses. Gentlemen, a suit is perfect for the occasion.

Question

Is there a shuttle back to Dublin after the wedding?

Answer

We will not be providing a return shuttle to Dublin, as guests will have varying individual plans. For those going back to Dublin, we recommend using the Expressway 30 bus that runs multiple times a day from Virginia to Dublin, also stopping at Dublin Airport (€15–22). Additionally, Virginia Park Lodge can help you call a taxi to take you wherever you need to go! Guests are welcome to rent cars as well. If you plan to take the bus back to Dublin, visit expressway.ie to see timetables, prices, and buy tickets (Virginia Main Street station to Dublin Airport or Dublin Busaras for downtown).

Question

How are Irish weddings different than American weddings?

Answer

Irish weddings are known for their long, joyful celebrations! Dinner and cocktail hour will run a bit longer than usual, so relax, enjoy the food and drinks, and take the time to mingle with fellow guests.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We'd love to include everyone, but only guests formally invited on your wedding invitations can be accommodated. If you have a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation and when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids welcome to join?

Answer

We love your little ones but the wedding is an adults-only event. That being said, your little ones are welcome at every other event during the weekend and we have a list of recommended babysitters that could watch your children on the estate the day of the wedding. Reach out to Carly to get the list.

Question

What should I do if I cannot make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you cannot attend our wedding, please indicate "Will NOT Attend" on your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
