Barton Springs
Barton Springs remains a cool 68° year round and offers an incomparable view of the city skyline. It also lends its name to the Barton Springs salamander, which is pretty cool.
The Domain
More than just an outdoor mall, the Domain has over 100 shops, bars, and restaurants, plus spas, salons, hotels, and gyms. It’s only five minutes from Damon and Natalie’s home. The all-you-can-eat, kid-friendly Museum of Ice Cream is worth the trip alone, but check out Blue Sushi for a great happy hour and Nina Berenato for gorgeous permanent bracelets too.
Jacob’s Well Natural Area
You need to make a reservation in advance, but if you’re looking for a cool spring that’s less crowded than Barton and more off the beaten path, Jacob’s Well is your spot.
Pennybacker Bridge
Get your Instagram pics here! Damon and Natalie frequently drive the Bronco across the Pennybacker Bridge, otherwise known as Bridge 360. Park at the base for a short-but-steep hike to the top!
Texas Capitol
There’s lots to do on South Congress, including shopping, seeing the Capitol Building, and getting a pic in front of the iconic “I love you so much” mural.
Zilker Metropolitan Park
If you’ve attended ACL, you’ve been to Zilker. It’s an Austin staple with picnic areas, botanical gardens, a disc-golf course, a theater offering various concerts and plays, dog-friendly walking trails, and much more.
