IT’S HAPPENING!

We met working at a tattoo shop in Gainesville, Florida. He was a tattoo artist who had just moved up from Miami and she was working as a receptionist, also from South Florida, who dreamt of becoming a tattooer. We gravitated towards each other, spending most lunch breaks together, during & after work. One afternoon, as we were headed back to the shop, he caught her by surprise and stole the first kiss. We have been inseparable ever since.

We took a trip to Puerto Rico and fell in love with the island and the feeling it brought to us. We came back to Gainesville inspired to make our own place to call home. That’s when the idea for Oasis was born. Six months later, we rented a space downtown and sure enough, with his endless handyman skills and her eye for design, together in March 2020, we opened Oasis Tattoo Collective.

He kept hinting at something really special going down. She had a feeling he might propose. He made sure to ask her parents’ permission before setting up a surprise for her on his own birthday. July 22, they take a trip to Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, where they meet Megan, who was in on the surprise. They walked towards a secluded gazebo facing a waterfall, surrounded by tea lights, rose petals and soft music. Convinced we had walked in on someone else’s proposal, it wasn’t until he was on one knee that she realized it was her own. We cried together, overwhelmed with emotions as it started to rain…obviously she said yes❣️
