The Story

First comes the letters, then comes Marriage

In 2020, at a carnival in Seabrook Island, South Carolina, lumber mill worker Nickolas Castillo sees 17-year-old heiress Rebekah Fear, there for the summer. He pursues her, coerces her into dating him, and they begin a romance. When Rebekah meets Nickolas' parents, they immediately like her. However, when Nikko meets her parents, they disapprove. That night, Nikko takes Rebekah to the abandoned Windsor Plantation, telling her he will buy and restore it. Nikko's friend John interrupts to warn them Rebekah's parents sent the police out looking for her. When Rebekah and Nikko return to her parents' mansion, Rebekah's mother Mary Jo makes it clear they are against the relationship and forbid her from seeing him. Nikko leaves and Rebekah follows, they go back and forth about Rebekah staying or Nikko moving to New York. However, Nikko suggests they wait out the summer and see if they will work out. Rebekah assumes Nikko wants to break it off and they begin to argue, and Rebekah says she wants to break it off, but then instantly regrets it the moment Nikko drives away. The next morning, Rebekah announces they will be returning to Charleston immediately. Rebekah seeks Nikko to apologize but is unsuccessful, so she asks John to tell him she loves him. Nikko rushes to Rebekah's when he hears but is too late. Nikko writes Rebekah every day for a year, but Rebekah's mother intercepts the letters. When all 365 go unanswered, he stops writing to move on. He and John enlist and fight in Call of Duty where John is killed. Rebekah nurses wounded soldiers in a hospital, meeting Fabricio, a young lawyer who comes from old Southern money. After a few years, they become engaged to Rebekah's parents' delight. Nikko returns from the war and finds his father has sold their home so Nikko can buy The Windsor Plantation. He believes that if he restores it, Rebekah will return to him. Once it's completed, Nikko resists selling it. As Rebekah tries on her wedding dress, she sees a newspaper photo of Nikko in front of the renovated house and faints. Rebekah's feelings for Nikko come rushing back, so she returns to Seabrook to find Nikko living in their dream house. Nikko tells Rebekah about the 365 letters, and they realize her mother kept them from her. And here we are.
