Maid of Honor
Noemi’s little sister, better known to family and friends and pretty much anyone she’s ever had a conversation with as Eli, is the best friend a higher power definitely knew I needed. Even though she’s younger than me, she has somehow always been my role model when it comes to speaking her mind, whether you’re ready to hear it or not. She tells the truth, keeps it real, and makes sure I never take myself too seriously. She has been there for every good, bad, and ugly moment of my life. She’s my favorite Disney-watching buddy, my go-to car karaoke passenger, and long before Dylan came along, she was the “adultier adult” who went with me to most of my doctor’s appointments because I’m a chicken. I may not have been able to choose her as family, but we chose to be each other’s best friends every single day. She’s my safe place, my reality check, and my biggest hype woman all in one. I truly couldn’t imagine standing at the altar without her by my side as my Maid of Honor.
Best Man
Dylan's best friend, fishing buddy, partner in wildly overconfident home-project “kontracting,” and brother from another mother, Sam. We’ve been best friends for nearly a decade, bonded by a shared love of fishing, grilling meat, and brewing beer (some batches more successful than others). What started as a few shared hobbies turned into a lifelong friendship. We may not be related by blood, but Sam has been a brother in every way that counts. Whether we’re failing at fishing or just hanging out, he’s always had my back. Having him as my best man means everything, mostly because if he weren’t, he knows enough about me to ruin my life. Sam will be joined by the woman who single-handedly ended my reign as “best friend” his beautiful wife, Amanda. Sadly not in attendance, but very much already in charge, is their child and our handsome godson, Leo. Born December 18, 2026, Leo still has that brand-new baby smell. Unfortunately for us, he decided this party did not meet his standards and chose not to grace us with his presence. That said, if being “man of the house” is determined by toolbox size, Leo already holds that title, and Sam just covers the bills. I’m just happy Leo allowed Sam and Amanda to come out for this occasion… under strict supervision.
Officiant
Oscar is one of Noemi's older cousins, but truly more like a brother to me. He has always been one of the pillars in my life and my go-to person when I need life advice, reassurance, or someone to gently tell me what I already know but don’t want to hear. He proudly holds the title of my number three secret keeper, right behind my sister Eli and Dylan, of course. Oscar has been a constant support not just for me, but for Dylan and me as a couple. He is endlessly welcoming to newcomers, genuinely curious about people, and a true lover of knowledge. He roots for love in every form and somehow manages to be both our biggest cheerleader and our calm, steady voice of reason. It was only fitting to ask him to officiate our wedding because there is no one we trust more to stand with us, believe in us, and speak over our love the way he does. And while Oscar will be up front marrying us, his brother Edwin, who has always been just as much a brother to me and Eli as he is to Oscar, will be out in the crowd, most likely being the life of the party and leading the dance floor. We truly could not imagine this day without them.
