When Justin and Noe met at Shenandoah Valley Academy our Freshman year in 2013, they had no idea where this relationship was heading. They were not each other's type. Justin was the baseball star, Noe was valedictorian. They dated other people, they had other interests, but their friendship stayed consistent throughout high school and trickled into the college years and beyond. For some reason, they stayed in occasional contact. In late 2024, Justin contacted Noe saying that he was moving to Auburn, Alabama because of a job relocation. They met up for lunch, went to the aquarium, and started spending more time together. After all, they were pretty good friends. Justin was surprised at the feelings he started to develop. He started to see more in Noe than book-smarts and an uptight pastor's daughter. "Her?" He thought to himself, but he didn't need much convincing. She was intelligent, level-headed, had sound values, and was suddenly prettier than he remembered. Noe, on the other hand, fought her feelings for several months. After all, they had different lifestyles and backgrounds. They had different interests and hobbies. He was...Justin-her high school friend! All her friends told her to go for it, after all, he was a nice guy, and he seemed very committed to spending time with her! As Justin rose to the apparently challenging task of showing Noe how many aspects of him she had missed in their friendship thus far, Noe started to become cognizant of his soft heart and self-sacrificing lifestyle. He drove an hour after work to bring her a care package when she came down with a flu. He stocked her suitcase with every medication and first-aid item the she might need as she prepared to travel to Brazil on a mission trip. He gently embraced, comforted, and checked on her as her school navigated the tragic passing of a precious first-grade student. He was a rock that was constantly there for her in a way she hadn't ever fully experienced. They began confessing and discussing their feelings with each other and finally...Noe said yes to a date. Soon after, they made it official (Justin made sure to sweeten the deal to her parents by making them homemade ice cream). It didn't take long to realize how well each person fit in with the other's family, how similarly they thought in many areas of life, and how God's hand was guiding the process. Justin proposed in April of 2026 with Noe's dream ring and a dozen beautiful roses. They offer the sincerest thanks for everyone's support and can't wait to celebrate at the wedding!
