Almost every day he messaged Noelia for homework answers, and she always helped. Kevin valued it more than she knew — nobody would’ve done that just w/out something in return. Noelia would simply say, “Nah, you’re good… we’re all struggling.” That was their friendship. At one point Kevin wanted to drop out, but hearing those say “It’s your last year, tough it out.” He did, even if he wasn’t all in.. When school went back in person, they were both behind, so they started meeting after class to catch up—and from there, they were talking every day. For Noelia’s birthday, Kevin invited her to Dave & Buster’s, their first real hangout outside school. After that night it made her wonder if she had feelings, though Kevin still saw her as just a close friend. Then came prom season. Kevin wasn’t interested, but after hearing Noelia go on about it nonstop, he asked, “So what, are you gonna ask me then?” They laughed, and Noelia shot back, “You know what? Yeah. Kevin, will you go to prom with me?” He gave in. They matched outfits, took the pictures, did the whole thing — and Kevin was right, prom was overrated. So he saved the night by taking Noelia to her very first car meet, and ended the night there. The night before Kevin’s birthday, Noelia was out with friends. Kevin stayed up to make sure she got home safe. When she needed a ride, he went. During the drive, Noelia finally confessed her feelings. Kevin was caught off guard, — but deep down he felt the same, just scared to risk the friendship. After a pause, he admitted he liked her too. They graduated together, and three months later, in August 2021, Kevin officially asked Noelia to be his girlfriend. And now, here we are!
