The theme of the Hall Wedding is Navy Elegance. Navy blue is Noel's favorite color, and we wanted to incorporate aspects of the United States Navy to honor Lloyd's father. Gold is also one of Lloyd's favorite colors so it fit perfectly!
We wanted to keep the wedding intimate which made sense to keep the guests to a smaller amount as well as having a "destination" wedding outside of where we live, less people can attend. We also wanted to be able to have all of our friends and loved ones here with us, so 125 people seemed like the perfect amount. We cant wait to see you all!
We got engaged on 2/9/19, and decided on a 20 month timeline. We knew we needed a bit of time to plan, so we figured between a year and a half to two years. Noel wanted all even numbers as her wedding date, and always dreamed of a Fall wedding so 10/10/20 was the perfect date! The coordination phase of the timeline presented the first challenges. Being in a different area than the wedding being held was a big challenge for both the planner and couple. The second challenging phase of the timeline was the confirmation and details. Finalizing the production schedule and making sure nothing was forgotten as well as the layout and guest list, since some of Noel's family did not want to make the travel to Virginia beach.
Being an interracial couple, and trying to combine our cultural backgrounds as well as our families began as a challenge. However, with understanding, love, and patience, we are blending our cultures successfully! Noel also comes from a christian household, while Lloyd does not. In the beginning Noel's family wanted the wedding to be held in a church and be married by a pastor. However, Noel sees no reason for these things at their wedding as she is not very religious. However, in the end to compromise, the wedding will be held in the hotel venue, but the couple will be married by a pastor.
