College was pretty fun… Noam’s noble courtship of the beautiful, half-Israeli mermaid culminated in June 2011 when they officially started dating. We quickly fell in love, not only with each other, but also with each other’s families, dogs, and personal values. Serendipity? Luck? Who knows… We just knew that this was going to be something special.
The island of Kauai was really beautiful… After living together for a couple of years after college, Noam surprised Ariel by planning a vacation to Hawaii for her birthday. His big plan was to propose under a waterfall, or maybe on a mountaintop with a great view. But did you guys know that it rains a lot in Hawaii? Well, apparently it does. He called a few audibles, and when the sun finally came out right before a fancy dinner overlooking Hanalei Bay, he popped the question and she said yes! (The rest of the trip was solid; we even rented a pickup truck so that we could access some hidden, off-road hiking trails and beaches. We recommend it…)
We are so excited to invite you to Ariel's grandparents' beautiful home and garden in Westchester, New York. This is a sentimental place for our family because many of Ariel's family members, including her parents and sister, were also married here. The ceremony will be short and Jewish, and it will take place outside in the garden. We will stand under a special silk chuppah that was made by Noam's mother. The reception and the dinner will then take place under a large tent for all our guests.
