During the summer of their junior year, Noah and Stephanie both attended a leadership camp, commonly known as Palmetto Boys State and Palmetto Girls State. Stephanie resided at Presbyterian College and Noah was at Anderson University during the first portion of the week. There, they learned about governmental duties and responsibilities and prepared for the ceremony that would be held at the end of the week to recognize their successes they’ve completed throughout the camp. The ceremony was held Friday June 13th in Columbia, SC. Stephanie and Noah found each other through Instagram and exchanged numbers and from there, they realized that they had so much in common. They knew it was meant to be, so they met on the Horseshoe at USC, exchanged Palmetto State Shirts and took their first of very many pictures together! A beautiful love story and fairy tale unfolded! #PalmettoSmithState
It was a rainy day that started off with a rainbow. To us, rainbows are very symbolic of our love and happiness that we have shared! Noah asked Stephanie to get dressed nice and that he planned on going for a nice walk before dinner. She protested because there was no way she was going to walk in the rain in a dress. She texted her mother to which her mom responded with “You only live once! I’ve done things your dad wanted me to do!” It finally stopped raining and Noah parked outside The Horseshoe and opened Stephanie’s door. They talked about a little of everything and out of nowhere, Noah twirled Stephanie around, got on one knee and said “this place has been the first of many beautiful memories together. I love you and I cannot imagine life with you. Let’s turn this place from a small memory to a beautiful story by being my wife.” Hugs, tears, laughter was shared as Stephanie said yes!! A photographer was hiding in the bushes to capture everything and their family was also hiding and watched it from afar!! A beautiful fairytale! #PalmettoSmithState
