The Mill at Fine Creek is in Powhatan, about 40 minutes west of Richmond. It is located right off of Hugoenot Trail / Rte 788. The road is dark and windy, and we strongly recommend either using a designated driver or reserving a Lyft/Uber ahead of time to pick you up.
The ceremony starts at 6:00pm, but you are welcome to arrive a little earlier. There is a brewery on-site that we would recommend visiting beforehand.
Yes! All guests are invited to attend the reception immediately following the ceremony. There will be hors d'oeuvres and dinner. There will be an open bar with beer, wine and liquor served until 8pm and beer and wine served from 8pm to 11pm.
Noah proposed to Shelley at Chapultepec castle, an historic landmark in Mexico City. The name Chapultepec is a Nahuatl word that means "on the hill of the grasshopper." That night, the newly engaged couple celebrated by eating chapulines - dry roasted grasshoppers served with chips and guacamole. They adopted the grasshopper as a symbol of their new family.
