Savannah and Noah met on the patio outside their church under a rainbow in the fall of 2022. (no, I’m not really making that up). He was convinced she was dating some other guy because he’s bad at reading social cues, so proceeded to not ask her out for another two years. Rather than doing it straightforwardly, he invited her to see a comedian he knew she loved, but framed it as having an extra ticket from a friend to not add the pressure of a date. Two days before the show, the comedian got sick and he asked her out to dinner and a movie instead. Less than a week later, they spent the whole day at Seal Beach, a day both of them noted as the day they knew it was going to at least last a few more months. But of course there had to be a wrench in the works - California’s housing prices. Three months in, Savannah moved back to Arizona to live with family after finishing her bachelor’s degree (cum laude woo woo). Rather than calling it quits like reasonable people, they instead proceeded to drive and fly across the desert on a biweekly basis for the next year. Technically, it was long distance. But they were both weak and needed constant reassurance that everything was going to be ok. Plus he works from home, so it was a little easier to sneak off to Arizona. A few months after she moved back, Noah proposed on the same beach where they had their second date, a few weeks after she nailed down a job and realized we could afford to live together (but not yet. Cause that's a sin.) Now we’re counting down the days until we have one rent payment and looking forward to celebrating years of tax benefits with all of you.
