Our Love Story

Every great love story starts with a moment! Ours began in the halls of residence during the first year at King's College in London, Ontario. We didn't know then that we were meeting the person we'd one day build a life with, but looking back now, it all feels like fate. We got to know each other slowly at first through late-night conversations, study breaks that turned into hour-long chats, and shared laughs in the dining hall. Over the next eight years, we became the closest of friends, the kind of friendship built on laughter, shared adventures, and unwavering support. We were each other’s person through it all, growing side by side. And somewhere along the way, that strong foundation of friendship quietly blossomed into something more. Four years ago, we officially began our journey as a couple, and what a journey it has been. From London, Ontario, to Cardiff, Wales. We leapt across the ocean to chase our dreams together. While earning our teaching degrees, we not only built our careers but also strengthened our partnership. In between classes and lesson planning, we explored castles, coastlines, and cobblestone streets, hand in hand. Together, we travelled through 14 European countries, collecting magnets and memories in our hearts. When our time overseas ended, we came back home and planted our roots. We lived with the bride’s incredibly patient and loving parents for a year, grateful for their support as we prepared for our next chapter. That next chapter was big—we bought our first home in Strathroy, a cozy place that became ours from the moment we stepped inside. And of course, we added two little bundles of energy to the mix: our kittens, Stella and Kona, who have filled our home with just the right amount of mischief and love. Through the highs and lows, big moves and quiet nights, train rides and teaching days, we’ve grown and not just as individuals, but as partners. We’ve learned how to support each other, how to listen, how to laugh, and how to build something beautiful together. On our wedding day, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us, we will promise to keep writing this story—page by page, side by side. We may not know exactly what adventures the future holds, but we do know this: there is no one else we’d rather explore life with. This is just the beginning of our story. Love, The Gibsons
