In the spring of 2020, Noah had overslept for a climbing trip with his friends, and tried to convince them to leave without him. After being reassured that they didn’t mind waiting, he hurried to meet them and carpool to a climbing area called Gandalf. Simultaneously, Rosalie was meeting an old work friend to go climb in the poudre at, you guessed it, a climbing area called Gandalf. Rosalie and her friend pulled into the dirt lot and shortly behind her came a truck filled with climber guys. As everyone started to unload, Rosalie recognized one of the guys in the truck that was an old friend (not Noah). Both groups crossed the river and began to warm up on the same boulders. Noah being pierced, heavily tattooed, AND a strong climber, immidiately intimidated and drew Rosalie to him. They sat on a crash pad together as everyone climbed. They chatted about life, their interests, and goals. As the time drew on and the groups went their seperate directions, both Noah and Rosalie knew they wanted to see each other again. As soon as they both got home, the facebook stalking commenced, Rosalie successful and Noah unsuccessful. When the friend request was sent and the first message from Noah came in, they agreed to climb again soon, which they did, literally all summer. After two months of being close friends, they both became aware of the fact that they had fallen in love with each other, and thus began their relationship.
Noah asked Rosalie to marry him in the middle of a canyon in Capitol Reef on his family’s annual camping trip to Utah. About five belays into the canyon, Noah found the perfect tree filled landing, got down on one knee, popped the question, and slid a ring onto Rosalie’s dirt covered hand, and she said “YES!!”
