Mykenzie had just begun working at Bomgaars in the summer of 2020, just shortly after graduating high school. She was training at the register with her friend Baylea who had warned her to watch out for Noah Storjohann. Just shortly after Baylea was warning her about Noah, he walked through the door, he was late to work… of course. For the first couple of days, Noah only came to her register when every other register was busy to buy his pop, usually a Dr. Pepper. After a while, they began having a fun banter back and forth with each other. One night after work, Mykenzie was getting in her car to leave when Noah pulled up next to her and asked her for her Snapchat, obviously Mykenzie gave it to him. (She would soon find out that getting her Snapchat was a bet between Noah and a coworker.) They began snapping back and forth, getting to know each other. This led to them taking their lunch breaks together and they began to catch feelings for each other. Mykenzie didn’t want to act on these feelings because she was leaving for college in a month, but clearly that didn’t work for her. They began dating in July of 2020, and in August of the same year, Mykenzie went to college in Norfolk, so they began long distance. They continued doing long distance throughout the school year, and at the end of the following year, Mykenzie moved back to Atkinson for the summer. They spent a lot of time together that summer. When it was time for Mykenzie to go back to college, Noah also started welding school. Once he graduated from school, he moved to Norfolk to live with Mykenzie. They lived in Norfolk for about 5 years. In July of 2025, they moved to back to O’Neill to be closer to their families. Our Engagement Story (February 25, 2026): After a long day at work, Mykenzie wanted to drive around and look at countryside. So Noah and her went driving around in the area where Noah grew up. They stopped at his grandparents hayfield, which also has a pond on it. Noah used the excuse to go there because they were doing some work around the pond. As they were walking back to the car, Noah got down on one knee and asked Mykenzie to marry him.
