We met in the 6th grade, just two kids in the same friend group, sharing classes, laughs, and the everyday moments of middle school. Back then, we were just friends. Nothing more, nothing less. As high school came, life pulled us in different directions. We were still acquaintances, still connected through familiar faces, but we weren’t as close as we once were. Then, after graduation in 2019, everything changed. What started as catching up turned into spending more and more time together. We were “just friends” for the longest time until we realized we didn’t want to go a single day without seeing each other. Somewhere between the long talks and constant laughter, friendship quietly turned into something deeper. What began in the 6th grade as two kids in the same circle became a love story we never saw coming, but now couldn’t imagine any other way.
Our engagement started with a weekend trip to Denver. Our favorite place to watch the Broncos play their first game of the season. It was supposed to be a quick getaway. Just football, fun, and us. We drove through the night (well… Noah drove through the night), so Saturday started a little slower than planned. We didn’t wake up until noon, still tired but excited for the day ahead. We found the coolest little brewery, laughed over drinks, and then decided to head up to Lookout Mountain to catch the sunset. The view was unreal…mountains stretching for miles, the sky painted in every shade of gold and pink. As the sun started to dip, we wandered down a small path through the mountains. I stopped to take a picture of a cute little sign, wanting to remember the moment. When I turned around, Noah was down on one knee. I will never forget that feeling…my heart racing, time standing still, the trees behind him, and the biggest smile on his face. What was supposed to be a short football trip turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. The easiest “yes” I’ve ever said.
