Meeting each other

Middle school

This is the very first picture me and Noah ever took together. It was in 6th grade where we had almost every class together. We become best friends or “twinn” as we called each other up until we started dating. We facetimed all the time for hours and hours, falling asleep on the phone, walking to classes together, and texting each other where we were if we weren’t in class (Noah was always sick🤦🏼‍♀️).

The long story of getting together

Middle/High school

This was in middle school where we had slowly started falling for each other. We were best friends for about 5 years before we started dating. During those 5 years, we facetimed all the time, he would show me around the house, talk to each others families, show each other our animals doing tricks, and getting to know more about each other. We would always meet after pretty much every class and he would walk me to my locker at the end of the day then walk to his then I would meet him back at his😂. Clearly all of our teachers seen it from the start and it’s crazy to think that they might not even know we are engaged now or started dating years after. We started flirting a lot more in freshman year of high school where everyone noticed besides each other clearly. We didn’t want to ruin our friendship because it was so good and perfect. We didn’t really tell anyone we had a crush on each other and would deny it every time.

Finally telling each other we like one another

Kaylie’s 16th birthday party, 10/20/18

Finally, sophomore year of high school we were at her 16th birthday party in October of 2018. One of her friends came up to me when I was by myself and asked me if I liked Kaylie. Not really knowing what was going to happen, I said, “Yes I do.” Her friend said, “Well she likes you too” and basically grabbed my arm and dragged me over to her and we started things off from there. We had a pretty long talk about everything and even met her dad for the first time right then. We started talking that night.

The night where it all started

Football game/McDonald’s, 10/26/18

We had school that day and of course he walked me to class and had a normal day just talking now. Although, the whole day he was randomly saying, “I have a question” but, I never got an actual question. We both decided we wanted to go to the football game at Jeff High. It was cold and raining but as you see he took his jacket off so we had something to sit on. Us and a couple friends decided to go to McDonalds across the street for some food. Suddenly, mine and his friend just randomly walked off leaving me and Noah alone. Then, I was leaning on his shoulder/chest area and he was scrolling through his phone while I watched. Next thing you know he said he had a question so I didn’t answer because I thought he was messing with me again, and he kept repeating himself and finally asked, “Do you want to be my girlfriend?” Of course, I definitely said yes and kissed him on the cheek. I went back home telling both my sister and mom so excited and they knew already lol.

Getting engaged

Nashville, TN 10/21/23

I knew that Nashville would be the perfect place to do it, the hard part of it was convincing Kaylie that “I didn’t have enough money for a ring” and that “i’ve been trying to save money little by little” basically making her think it wasn’t going to happen for a while. 2 months out and I finally got the ring and planning was started, ideas came and ideas went but once we found the house we were staying at and saw that it had a beautiful balcony I knew we had to do it there. We celebrated Kaylie’s 21st birthday the whole weekend in Nashville. Lots of surprises that she couldn’t keep up with and secrets being kept throughout the weekend to try not to spoil the biggest one. Overall we all had a very fun weekend and had the best time. Once Saturday came I was not nervous about proposing until I was standing there in the moment. I was more nervous that it was not going to work out as planned or that she would figure it out before I got to do it but thanks to her mom, sister, brother, dad, etc they all help play it off and I could not of pulled it off without them, but when the time came and seeing her walk towards me with tears in both of our eyes, I knew we were ready to start the next chapter in our lives, and we could not be happier❤️
