Maid of Honor
My soul sister, best friend and role model. Our roots date back to high school where we shared the stage for theater and A Capella. We reconnected when I returned home from college. Ali was my nurse preceptor, and taught me how to be a nurse. It was then that our bond became inseparable and we became family. Despite her being so far away from me, I can't imagine a life without her in it!
Bridesmaid
Saralyn (Slyn) and I met during nursing school, where we studied abroad together in Barcelona. We became instant friends as we both shared a love for making music and nursing. We match each other's energy perfectly, making her undeniably my twin flame. She makes me laugh more than anyone I know, but is also the most emotionally intelligent person with the best advice. Our love is unconditional!
Bridesmaid
Buschmama! Paige is one of my best friends and greatest supporters, and has been since our college days. We share a love for excellent music, social justice and most recently, book sharing. Though we no longer live 5min apart, we always remain in touch and find time to get together, which is very important to us both. She is a brilliant and strong woman who inspires me to be the very same!
Bridesman
Another college friend.... my best friend Jackson! We first met through Paige, and have been friends ever since. Our friendship blossomed when we both held leadership roles for our university's Pride Alliance. We share a love of drag shows and cooking/eating delicious foods. I'll never forget his epic Halloween party in college, and when he made me brownies after my childhood dog died. Our friendship means the world to me!
Bridesmaid
Kirsty is my most recent friend, but don't let that fool you, our time together has been VERY impactful. We are ICU nurses on the same unit, and have (literally) been through the trenches of a pandemic together. We endlessly support each other, no matter the circumstances. Recently, we traveled to Colorado together and had the best time climbing and exploring the Rocky Mountains. Kirsty has come so far in her life and I couldn't be more proud to call her my best friend.
Bridesmaid
My dear friend, Aminah! We met in high school during a community theater show. She was on the hair and makeup crew, and I was in the ensemble. We immediately clicked, and have remained friends ever since! One of the greatest Summers of my life was when we worked as servers at Guido's Bar & Grill. She is the sweetest, most caring friend, and has introduced me to so many amazing people (including our wedding's hair and makeup artist, Mallory). I'm so glad that the distance between us hasn't affected the friendship we share. I love you Ami!
Junior Bridesmaid
As many of you know, since the day I was born, I was deemed the Princess of the family. That title has stuck throughout the years. When my sweet cousin Jordan came into our lives, she was... well, not pleased when she was given the role of Duchess of the family. Nonetheless, Jordan instantly stole my heart and I knew she would be the perfect Junior Bridesmaid for my special day. Though, I think she is mostly excited to move into the role of Princess after I get married and become the Queen!
Best Man
Peter and I share a love of Mel Brooks movies, the art of film, and a strong loyalty to our most important people. He is the shortest tenured entrant into the list of my best friends. We met at Bradley, technically, sophomore year. I was visiting prior to transferring there. I took his Rubix cube from his dorm in an effort to return it mysteriously solved before he noticed, but instead, he noticed and wasn't happy about it. Still, we decided to become roommates the following year. This then turned into a friendship where ‘Barry Manilow’ was a parallel parking quality rating and the man who I call Best on the day of my wedding. Ain’t that something.
Groomsman
Dale is one of two members from my high school friend group that I still hold dear. We played the low / supporting parts in the school band from middle school until we left for college. He famously lost his shoes in California and had to wear band shoes on the way home. Hilarious, in retrospect. Our friendship was cemented by hours of driving around in his old truck in the country near our hometown listening to Mumford and Sons albums. These memories go hand-in-hand with the memories that inspired my love for music. He also plays a killer drum kit.
Groomsman
Jacob will probably have the most leathery hands of all of us 20 years from now. He’s a working man’s man and he is quick to help, even in a thankless job. We built a cabin together in high school and that is and will always be a highlight of my life. We were always on the same page when it came to fixing a broken-down four wheeler or building some gadget that probably didn’t work. He was my absolute best friend during a rough period of my life and it’s because of him running our hometown course that I developed a love (and hate) of the game of golf. If I’m ever halfway decent at the game, I’ll probably thank him.
Groomsman
Kaleb is my oldest and best friend. We never really had a chance to not get along, seeing how we were born two months apart and saw each other at least weekly for something like 10 years following. Even so, my early childhood memories are studded with his presence and I am grateful for it. It was in his parents’ back yard that I learned I was pretty good at punting dodgeballs, but I decided to spare the current NFL records and pursue banking instead. We were college roommates until we weren’t and now he’s someone I admire and relate to in totally unique ways.
Groomsman
Lija is the oldest of my two younger brothers. He was centerfield to my left field, second baseman to my shortstop, catcher to my pitcher (and vice versa). There was never anything that I could do that he couldn't keep up with. He was always much luckier than I was and always seemed to catch more or bigger fish than me. He’s also approximately as funny as I am. I’ve been lucky enough to know him his whole life and in recent years I’ve watched him grow into a man.
Groomsman
Before I met my soon-to-be (or current, whenever you’re reading this) wife, Jona was the person that I loved most. He was my baby brother and I always tried and often failed to protect him. He taught me how to play countless video games even from the time I was in preschool. Growing up, it was one of life’s greatest joys to make him laugh and fear when we roughhoused and he got hurt. The older boys ‘should have known better’ haha and it always was him who got hurt somehow. Now, he’s got big dreams, a soon-to-be (or current, whenever you’re reading this) wife, and I’m proud to call him my brother.
