Below are a few of our favorite ways to spend time in the area. Olde Mistick Village is a shopping village with local boutiques, great food, and an easy, relaxed vibe. You can spend a couple of hours walking around, popping into shops, and grabbing a bite. Our favorite spots there: Toast & Tonic for brunch, Pink Basil for sushi and Trattoria Amalfi for Italian. If you’re considering staying near Olde Mistick Village rather than the Marriott, we have stayed a few times at the Hilton Mystic and enjoyed being able to walk over to Olde Mistick Village! Another can’t-miss is strolling through downtown Mystic itself. We recommend starting near the Whaler’s Inn and walking across the iconic drawbridge. From there, just explore at your own pace. Favorite places downtown: S&P Oyster for waterfront views and amazing food. Cucina Al Pantheon for an upscale Italian dinner. The Engine Room for a more casual, fun atmosphere. Port of Call for drinks. And Drawbridge Ice Cream for a sweet treat!
There are plenty of charming neighboring towns near Mystic, and one of our favorites is Stonington. Noah and Francesca love taking a drive through town and admiring the beautiful homes along the way. We recommend lunch at Dog Watch Cafe or sitting out on the dock for seafood at Breakwater. Or grab a coffee at Indulge before strolling around town!
