By the world's standards, this may seem a little early. But after much prayer, we are confident in the Lord's timing. With a year and a half of nursing school left, we're joyfully beginning our marriage and trusting God with the seasons to come. Cailey's side of the story: When we were in middle school, Noah would steal my cheesecake during English class. In my freshman year of high school, I started going to church with him, and I decided I liked him. My friend Carlie took it into her own hands and convinced him to give me his number. We started dating our freshman year of high school and I thought I was in love for about two months...then I quickly realized I was not ready for a relationship. We ended up dating for about 8 months, then one night after church he asked, "do you even still like me?" I very quickly and bluntly replied with "nope!" (I even celebrated when I got to the car.) We both had a major need for growing our relationships with the Lord! So, a year goes by, and we started becoming friends when he was hired at my parents' restaurant. I tried to convince myself that I wasn't romantically interested again, but that did not go over well. It was an inner battle for months, but it felt like the Lord was crossing our paths again for a reason. Months before we started dating, I knew I was going to marry him. We soon became best friends and could talk about anything. Then, we went on our first mission trip together and he asked me to be his girlfriend on a beach in Brazil! Within just a couple weeks we began seriously talking about marriage and knew that the Lord brought us back together for a reason. After coming to college together and witnessing Noah dive even deeper into his relationship with the Lord and grow a profound desire for lost people, I knew that he was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with! He has had so much growth spiritually, and I am confident that he will lead me and our future family the same way it is exemplified throughout the Bible. I love him so much, and I cannot wait to be called his wife!
