Steph Haeg

Maid of Honor

Steph and I have been best friends since we were 12 years old--over half our lives!! In middle and high school we might as well have been named StephAndAlivia we were so rarely apart. We even took each other to prom junior and senior years! Though we attended college in different states, we remained close with weekly calls that continue to this day. Some of our favorite things to do together include baking cakes, watching women-led action movies, and having long conversations about topics ranging from politics to comic books to embarrassing childhood memories. Steph has been with me through thick and thin, and I can't imagine getting married without her love and support!

Amanda Jack

Best Woman

Amanda and I met during undergrad and became friends over a mutual interest in science, eerily similar tastes in music, and generally being massive nerds. Enablers by nature, we’ve tended to prod each other to better heights, whether volunteer teaching in KY after graduation, the longest possible hikes (in the rain, uphill both ways), or spontaneous vacations! Amanda and her family have been more than kind to me over the years, and it is one of my privileges to be an honorary “Jack pack” member. School keeps both of us busy, but I’m always happy to find time to chat about the most recent concert, the latest drama, or our board game of the month.

Leela Cofell

Bridesmaid

Leela and I have been friends since middle school. Back in the day, we would often play Dungeons & Dragons, cook, and watch movies together. Today, we still love to do all those things, as well as take walks around Minneapolis, swap and discuss books, and go to museums and concerts. Leela is one of the funniest people I know, and keeps me laughing with fresh turns of phrase, coworker stories, and personalized memes. In addition to being a dear friend, Leela is also the godparent, go-to cat-sitter, and #1 bad influence to our beloved cat, Artichoke.

Brian Mysonhimer

Groomsman

Brian and I met in high school and have been good friends since. Although we ended up at different schools for undergrad, we still found time to meet up on holidays or when we were both in town. Despite being the only person to be cut from the Fenwick Academic Team, he’s the only one I trust to answer my insect-related questions and concerns! He is always down for a board game night, driving people home in the wee hours of the morning, and crushing his competition in a game of Risk: Godstorm.

Jessica Leeds Richman

Bridesmaid

Jessica and I met in college when I was a junior and she was a freshman. From our first meeting, her bravery, charm, and sparkling wit were apparent, and I knew I wanted to be her friend. Luckily Jessica agreed, and she became one of my closest friends, and eventually my sorority grandlittle. Jessica is a true light in my life, and I walk away from every conversation with her with a smile on my face, joy in my heart, and some new idea or perspective. She also gives the best hugs!

Nathan Myers

Groomsman

Unbreakable friendships are forged through a physics major, and this is truly the case for my former roommate of two years, Nathan! Nathan is easily my #1 friend from Alaska, and is one of the few people I can send or receive a meme from, unprompted, in a month and have it make total sense. While we are both preoccupied with physics grad school at different universities, we always connect over the latest shows or movies we’ve watched, the games we’ve played, or the happenings in the world of academia! And to close, two words: Pacapong. Rematch.

Mattie Shepard

Bridesmaid

Mattie and I met in our freshman year at Denison University, and spent the next 4 years together as roommates, sorority sisters, and friends. I couldn't have survived college without Mattie. She was always there for me in ways big and small: making me laugh so hard I cried, helping me compose texts and emails, lending me laundry quarters, and giving the best advice. Though we live states apart now, Mattie remains one of my closest friends, and I still rely on her for book recommendations, a place to stay when I'm visiting Ohio, and all the hot new memes.

Andrew Owens

Groomsman

There’s a lot that Andrew and I have bonded over through the years. Friends since freshman year of high school? Yup. Always down for the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions? We sure are. Champions of Risk? Well, who’s the best is a little debatable. Andrew is a dependable friend who is game for learning new things, unafraid of risks, and is the life of the party. Even though school and work keep us both busy, we still find time to hang out over a drink and a board game when we’re in town!

Wynston Tacheny

Bridesman

As Dom says in Fast 5: "There's always room for family". Wynston is my brother, and as such has put up with more of my nonsense than any other member of my wedding party. Despite our not-infrequent fights as kids (our parents enrolled us in martial arts just so we could get it out of our systems away from home), Wynston has always had my back. I've truly loved watching my baby brother grow up into the thoughtful, kind-hearted, intelligent man he is today.

Jonah Rogers

Groomsman

As Dom says in Furious 7: “I don’t have friends, I got Family.” I think I would have been good friends with Jonah, even if I didn’t win the sibling lottery and have him as a brother. The school and career paths we took led us to different places, but I am so happy that we can still pick up conversations without a hitch. Truly some of the silliest and happiest moments of my life have occurred because of Jonah, and it wouldn’t be a wedding “party” without him!
