Noah and I first met when I was picking him up for youth group! He was just my little sister's friend at that point. Little did I know, a little bit over a year later I would be living in his basement, and four years later we'd be married! For those of you that don't know - my parents moved away the summer before my senior year of high school. This meant that I either had to move to Virginia with them or stay in State College and live with a family from Grace Prep my senior year. I did not have many good friends in State College at that point but while on a mission trip to Zambia, God made it clear to me that I was supposed to be in State College. Through a series of events, I ended up living with the Harris family. I hardly knew their family at all but I felt from the beginning that they were a very special family. In fact, one night the summer before I moved in with the Harris', we were at a going away party at the Gresh's house and I was dancing with Noah's sisters, Emma and Mikayla, and I heard God say "These girls are going to be so important to you." I didn't even know their names at this point. That is one of my favorite stories to tell because if you know me, you know I love Noah's sisters so dearly! Now back to Noah. To make a long story short, we were together pretty much all day every day from September 2018 until I went on the True Girl tour in August 2019. After that, Noah and I did a year of long-distance while I went on tour and during COVID while I was in VA. In August of 2020, I moved back to State College and we have been only a mile away from each other ever since. Noah proposed to me on July 16th, 2022. After 3.5 years of being together. We went on a walk (which Noah never suggests), while on the walk we went along this path and I noticed something smack dab along the middle of the path. Funnily enough - I thought they were shoes! As we came up closer, I realized they were books and that's when I knew he was about to propose to me. Noah knows me so well and I couldn't have imagined a better proposal than books, a photoshoot, and a surprise party together with our families. I am so thankful for Noah and for our relationship. Noah is perfect for me. He is selfless and patient and kind. My momma always told me to watch how boys treat their moms, and Noah is so sweet to his mom, Amy, and his many sisters :) To know Noah is to love him and I cannot wait to be married to him.
I love Abby so incredibly much and wouldn’t change the last 3.5 years of my life at all. It all started when I was at new student orientation at Grace Prep High School. She was a senior there just hanging out and being around the new students. I decided she was pretty cute and asked for her number and she gave it to me. Fast forward a while and she is living in my basement because her parents moved away and so we were together all the time! We grew to know each other and eventually love each other in the course of the year of her living here. We have been through many ups and downs (a lot of ups). From us having to go long distance to COVID to many other things that made a relationship with an age gap like this very difficult. We did it and got through it together which in the end made us a lot stronger. I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life so soon and I couldn’t be happier to spend it with anyone else.
