Trying to play it cool, I said we were just friends, and then preceded to text him about it to see how he would respond. He gave me nothing. Later at church praise team practice, I spent the evening swooning over him hanging out with my grandma, who he had urged me to bring along. After noticing that he was hanging around after practice (which he never did), I decided to make the first move, and asked him to go get drinks. We haven’t stopped hanging out since.
