We met during my visit to Nigeria in the summer of 2016. I traveled there for my grandfather's funeral, so it wasn't really a pleasant vacation. But just a couple days before I left to return to the U.S., she came over to visit with her aunt. When I saw her walk in the door, she was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. As I sat next to her, I knew I had to force my shy self to initiate a conversation. So the first thing I asked her was "So...what are your hobbies?" She smiled right before she replied...I tell you, that smile she has was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It confirmed everything for me: she was the one. We hung out for a bit and exchanged numbers before I traveled back to the States in August. We stayed connected through long distance and that's where we got to know each other the most. I fell in love with her personality, her charisma, her enthusiasm, and many more.
I traveled back to Nigeria to see her again that December. Even though we had just met a few months prior, I knew she is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with and I couldn't imagine it with anyone else, so I couldn't see a point in waiting. When I saw her for the first time in months, I was very excited, since I had been waiting for what felt like so long to see her again. We hung out for a bit and caught up after we met again. I initially planned to wait a day or two before I proposed, but I couldn't wait any longer and brought out the ring immediately. Words could not describe how excited I was when she said the big "YES!" We're excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you all on December 7th!!
