So not many people know the real story of how we met but we’re getting married, so I guess better late than never. So we actually met on the dating app called tinder. We both said yes to each other's photos and then started talking through the app to get to know each other a little bit. We finally decided to meet up and see each other in person on September 20th 2017. That’s what we call our official first date. He came over to my apartment and I made him shrimp scampi with linguini pasta. After dinner we watched a movie together called “A Dogs Purpose”. When we met I had originally told my parents that we met at Walmart, because I had a good feeling about Andrew and I didn't want them to make any pre-judgements of him. We've been together for almost two years now, and I thank God everyday for bringing him into my life. This might sound crazy, but a month into the relationship I already knew that I loved him. He was just so unlike any guy that I had ever met before and he treated me like I always prayed a man would. I didn't get the courage to tell him I loved him until Christmas Eve when I wrote him a letter to go along with the Christmas ornament I got him for our tree. He teared up reading it, and afterwards came and kissed me and told me he loved me too. We're truly best friends and are 100% our true selves with each other, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
We were vacationing in Pensacola Beach. Our hotel was right on the beach. We spent the morning at a spa getting a couples message. After the message we had lunch at a beachfront restaurant. We had scheduled a dolphin cruise for later that evening and had some time to kill before heading there so we visited some local shops and he started bugging me about getting a manicure. I kept telling him I didn't want one and he eventually gave up. We got back to our room and found out that our cruise was canceled due to the weather so we decided to go spend some time in the water, but it started pouring down rain. Then about 20-30 minutes later the rain let up and we decided to take advantage of the moment and head down to the water. As soon as we got down to the water, my sister called me and we started talking about miscellaneous stuff. Andrew started pacing back and forth and getting frustrated and eventually told me to tell my sister that I would call her back later. I asked him what the hurry was, and he said he wanted to get a video of us playing in the water. So I went out a little ways and started playing in the water and then he called me closer to him saying he wanted to show me something he found in the sand. I was looking toward the direction he pointed to, he got down on one knee. When I realized what was going on I started crying, he asked me to marry him and I of course said yes. After my emotions had calmed down a bit, I realized why he had been in a rushing tizzy all day. He told me he had been planning this for quite some time, and I can honestly say that it couldn't have been any more perfect. Yes it was still sprinkling a bit when he popped the question, but we were literally the only people on the beach at that time and the scenery was perfect. I had secretly always hoped that the proposal would happen in an intimate setting on a beach somewhere and that's exactly what I got.
