Our story started in 2017 at a pop-up shop event. I ran into familiar faces, enjoyed a few drinks, and was fully in the moment. The vibes were right. At one point, I stepped out for a smoke break—only to realize I had nothing on me. I asked one of the performers if he could help me out. Without hesitation, he said yes and escorted me outside to his car where his crew was hanging out. Little did I know, that performer was my future fiancé’s cousin. Not knowing these guys at all, I somehow found myself sitting in the backseat, chatting it up and freeloading like I’d known them forever. They made me feel completely comfortable. That’s when I noticed Jadda. He was quiet—said maybe two words—but he definitely caught my eye. I specifically remember thinking, “Who is that cutie back there?” I played it cool and went on about my life… until a few days later, when curiosity got the best of me. I searched for Jadda on Instagram and discovered he was an artist on YouTube. To my surprise, I actually liked the music (and no, I’m not just saying that because he’s mine). So I slid into his DMs and told him I watched his video and liked his music. It took him three days to respond, but once he did, we talked briefly, exchanged numbers, and he told me, “Make sure you use it.” Eight years later… I’m still using it. We spent the next months—and years—inseparable. Along the way, we found out my dad had taught all of his sisters in high school, which made everything feel like a full-circle moment. You know how they say you’ve probably already met your soulmate? In our case, our families did first. Marriage was always something we both wanted eventually. We’ve always said there’s no one else we’d rather do life with, and that feeling has never changed. Surrounded by our family and friends, Jadda surprised me and asked for my hand in marriage. I said yes—to my best friend, my partner, and the love of my life.
