Question

Do I have to attend everything?

Answer

Traditional Indian weddings can last for days. The whole village is invited. While we don't want to take all your vacation time to celebrate with us, you are welcome to join us for what you can attend. The Welcome Dinner is optional, so no worries if flights don't perfectly work out.

Question

A Sunday Wedding? Should I fly in on Friday?

Answer

Both of us and the city of Milwaukee would love to have you come ASAP, but seriously the first event starts on Saturday evening and is optional. However, if you want to make a mini vacation out of it, then come early and check out our Things to Do to help plan your trip.

Question

Where's the Beef?

Answer

If you are anything like Wendy's, you're going to keep looking for the beef! We are serving vegetarian foods from different regions of India throughout the wedding. Please do let us know in your RSVP if you have any allergies or other restrictions.

Question

What do I wear to an Indian wedding?

Answer

Indian weddings are colorful! As this is a fusion wedding, we welcome all styles of dress. For the Welcome Dinner, we suggest cocktail or semi-formal attire, Western or Indian. For the Wedding and Reception, we request formal attire, Western or Indian. Most importantly, wear what makes YOU feel most comfortable and ready to dance! Don't be afraid to modify to fit your personal style. Here is a blog post for some guidance: https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-indian-wedding If you need a space to change, there will be one provided at the Hyatt Regency (across the street).

Question

I don't own an Indian outfit, but would like to wear one to the wedding.

Answer

Well you are in luck! There are many online shops that make clothes to order and ship right to your door. Some of our favorites are below: www.perniaspopupshop.com www.kalkifashion.com www.houseofindya.com www.panashindia.com You could also consider borrowing an outfit from an Indian friend or shopping locally if you live near a local boutique. If you would like help getting dressed the day of, we will have several of Niyati's family and friends armed with safety pins to get you looking runway ready!

Question

Why aren't you registered anywhere?

Answer

We have just moved into our new home together! Being the foodies and gamers that we are, we have double of just about everything we could possibly need to have for perfect date nights for our first year. Please do not feel obligated to bring anything. Your presence is gift enough. We kindly request no boxed gifts.
