A Baraat is the groom's procession into the wedding ceremony. The procession signifies an age-old tradition of the groom who would travel an average of five to seven days to the home of his bride-to-be. Nowadays, the baraat is condensed to an hour of dancing and celebration. Note that the Baraat leads right into the wedding ceremony - they can be considered part of the same function.
For our wedding ceremony we encourage everyone to wear either semi formal western wear or traditional Indian garb. We suggest kurtas for men and kurtis or lehengas for women. If you would like to wear a sari, please be aware that you will need to be able to tie it or have someone tie it for you since it can be more involved.
There are various websites where you can purchase and even rent Indian attire for men, women, & children. Aza Fashions, Utsav Fashion, Manyavar, CBazaar, and Glamour Rental are a few.
Please let us know if you have dietary restrictions ie: any kind of allergies, gluten, or are vegan so that we can have food prepared specially, if needed.
We understand the COVID situation is ever-evolving, and of course, we will continue to assess and update guests if things change. In the meantime, we recommend guests get a PCR test to help protect everyone and have fun in the safest way possible.
